Young entrepreneurs in Sandwell have a chance to run a market stall: here’s how

Sandwell market bosses are seeking young people who may be interested in setting up market stalls.

Market stallSandwell Council wants to encourage people under the age of 30 to take on a market stall, with the hope of running a youth market in West Bromwich in the summer.

The stalls would be judged as part of a nationwide competition, and the winners would then be sent forward into a regional and national final in Stratford upon Avon later in the year.

Councillor David Hosell, cabinet member for highways and environment, said: “We would love to get a wide range of young business people who want to sell either goods they source or make, and also those who want to use the opportunity as a pilot to test their business ideas.

“We would also welcome anyone wishing to use the markets to promote a service business rather than simply selling goods. Many a successful company has been started on a market stall.

“So individuals who wished to promote a fledgling wedding photography business would be just as welcome to have a stall as someone opening a cake decorating business,” he added.
