#madeinsandwell Monday star RTB Performance keeps our borough happy and healthy
This week #madeinsandwell Monday gets your heart racing with RTB Performance (www.rtbperformance.co.uk), a rehabilitation and injury prevention service that works with people and businesses to improve fitness, reduce sickness and increase productivity.
Founded by Kevin Raison in 2003, the business started out as Kick Start Boot Camp, with health and fitness sessions in Warley Woods. Jessie, Kevin’s wife, joined in 2011 and they expanded their reach to Sandwell Valley.
In 2016 they took a big risk and completely remodelled the company, leasing premises on Beakes Road in Smethwick to offer a more exclusive service and rebranding as RTB Performance. RTB stands for raise the bar!
The new RTB Sports Performance Centre enables clients to park in a secure car park, have a smoothie and chat before and after working out, have their body fat measured, share their goals or simply use the rest rooms.
RTB offers personalised training plans, Olympic-quality equipment, a treatment room for rehabilitation consultations, occupational health and reactivation therapies, all with the aim of supporting Sandwell residents to live happier, healthier lives.
RTB’s clients have included prisons, schools, sports clubs and financial institutions, and, through his work with Jaguar Land Rover, Kevin has helped hundreds of employees at all levels improve their mobility, improve their performance and return to work after long-term illness.
Kevin and Jessie, together with other expert coaches, cover everything from nutrition, lifestyle, posture and mindset to deliver a personalised service to every client.
Both Kevin and Jessie grew up in Bearwood and love investing their time and energy in Sandwell, where they have long family histories. They also feel that Sandwell offers a lot of support, connections and investment that help local businesses succeed. Kevin and Jessie are proud of the fact that they have not only transformed individual lives, but have also helped businesses reduce the cost of employee sickness through injury prevention and rehabilitation services.
Looking to the future, RTB has introduced a new initiative combining fitness with fundraising – when clients check in for their workout appointments, a donation is made to Acorns Children’s Hospice. This encourages people to stick with their exercise plans and also raises money for a good cause.
RTB plans to continue working with local people and organisations to improve mental and physical health throughout Sandwell, reducing stress-related illnesses and tackling the stigma of mental illness.
