Hyperama reports steady year
Cash and carry wholesaler Hyperama has reported a slight rise in turnover and a slight drop in pre-tax profits, giving them a stable overall financial year.
The company, which has a large store in West Bromwich, stocks over ten thousand product lines, including big brands such as Kellogg’s, Unilever, Walkers, Nestle and Coca-Cola. It is one of the leading importers of ethnic food to the UK and also has three other sites spread across the Midlands in Derby, Peterborough and Nottingham.
In the year to 27 January 2019, Hyperama’s turnover increased from £141m to £142.1m, while pre-tax profits fell from £1.4m to £1.3m. This comes after a £15m finance deal in August 2018 to modernise its West Bromwich site and expand its import business.
