Is your firm fit and ready to supply the biggest tram extension project in the UK?
On Thursday 19 October, West Midlands firms are invited to attend a valuable breakfast workshop. Learn how you could tap into a multi-million pound works package and supply opportunities aligned to the expansion of the Midland Metro . . .
The Midland Metro Alliance (MMA) recently began works to extend Midland Metro, working on behalf of the West Midlands Combined Authority. The ten-year cross-region programme will need a high-quality pool of material and component suppliers, support services, civil engineering and specialist subcontractors.
Over a complimentary cooked breakfast, suppliers from across the region will get the opportunity to meet with senior procurement, supply chain leads and project decision-makers from the MMA.
Attendees will hear about MMA’s supply chain strategy, learn more about potential business opportunities and the essential advanced construction skills such as Building Information Modelling (BIM) that the Midland Metro Alliance look for in their top suppliers – as well as the verifications and approvals required by aspiring lower-tier suppliers and sub-contractors.
Delegates will gain an understanding of the West Midlands’ ‘Better Connectivity’ masterplan, get a preview of High Value Manufacturing City (a recently launched contracts/opportunity gateway) and become aware of the Skills Support for the Workforce programme, which is a valuable funding initiative for SMEs to develop the skills needed to grow their business and help improve their work-winning skills.
This free event presents a great opportunity to network with likeminded professionals and will give a valuable insight into working on this iconic project. It’s a must-attend event for business owners, directors, business improvement and skills development professionals.
Further details of the event, including how to register, can be found on our events calendar.
