Major Black Country factory scheme gets go ahead from Sandwell
As we reported back in September, the former Albright High School in Popes Lane, Oldbury is set to be become a new multi-million pound manufacturing facility for Steel & Alloy Processing Ltd.
The former school land was acquired from Sandwell Council last year by Trebor Developments, on behalf of Steel & Alloy Processing Ltd, and at the time of our last story being published it had outline planning permission for B1 and B2 development.
Trebor Developments has now secured full planning permission for the 12-acre site, with unanimous support from Sandwell’s planning committee. Work is due to start on the site in autumn 2017 and the facility could be operational by 2018, providing many new jobs for the area.
Steel & Alloy Processing is at the forefront of the steel processing sector and this investment in a new 300,000 square feet manufacturing facility with new technologies will enable it to retain its position as a market leader in the rapidly changing steel processing industry.
Such major investment is also good for Sandwell and the region’s steel processing industry.
