Manufacturing and materials funding competition
Innovate UK has launched ‘manufacturing and materials round 2’, a competition that will fund a range of projects that address certain identified technical or commercial challenges.
In total, Innovate UK will invest up to £15 million in innovative projects with the aim of increasing productivity, growth and competitiveness between small and medium-sized UK businesses (SMEs).
To enter the competition, a project must:
- involve at least one SME, which will lead the project,
- focus on technical feasibility, industrial research or experimental development,
- last between six months and three years,
- cost between £50,000 and £2 million.
Projects lasting longer than 12 months and costing more than £100,000 must also involve collaboration with other partners.
The closing date for registration is Wednesday 18 January 2017 and final applications must be submitted by Wednesday 25 January.
If you have a project you’d like to enter, go to the competition’s website where you can download a detailed competition brief, register your interest and read the application guidance.
If you have a project that doesn’t meet the criteria for this particular competition, then take a look at the Innovate UK website to see if it might be eligible for any other funding opportunities.
