Sandwell metal polishing firm to create jobs with funding boost
A Sandwell company specialising in metal polishing has secured funding from Barclays to purchase new machinery. Professional Polishing Services Ltd agreed a £240,000 facility with the bank to buy a new bright polishing line. The investment is expected to enable the firm to boost capacity by 50 per cent.
Smethwick-based Professional Polishing Services Ltd is a market leader in polishing stainless steel, aluminium, brass, copper and bronze. It polishes sheet, plate, coil, flat bar, sections, profiles, balustrades, laser cut panels, square and rectangular tube to a variety of finishes.
The company is also a finalist in the category of Manufacturing Excellence of the Midlands Family Business Awards 2018 – an independent, not-for-profit annual awards showcase for family businesses in the Midlands.
The new machinery being purchased will enable Professional Polishing Services to expand its customer base and will also create employment for Sandwell as the firm will be looking to recruit an additional five members of staff to support the growing business.
Founded in 1983 the company currently employs 22 staff. Managing director Kirsty Davies-Chinnock said: “We have always focused on growth through investment in additional lines and this is going to be one of our most ambitious yet. We are hugely excited about the project and although the machines will take a few months to be built, we can’t wait for their arrival in early 2019.”
“We are so excited for the opportunities this capital expenditure plan will bring, not only in terms of additional tonnes processed and creating extra jobs, but in how we can expand our customer base.”
