Sandwell training specialist creates £20m turnover group with new acquisition
Oldbury-based training provider BCTG Group has acquired PTP Training, trading as Performance Through People, for an undisclosed sum.
BCTG Group provides training throughout the West Midlands, with its headquarters at European Business Park in Oldbury. It has ten sites across the Black Country, Birmingham, Staffordshire and Newcastle-under-Lyme.
BCTG Group includes subsidiaries BCTG Ltd, Eurosource Solutions, Further Training and The Apprenticeship Works. PTP Training will join the group, taking its turnover above £20m.
The expanded group will employ around 200 people and support almost 10,000 young people and adults each year.
The training provider currently offers 166 different types of apprenticeship, 84 different adult upskilling and reskilling courses and 27 pre-apprenticeship programmes for 16-18-year-olds. These include everything from engineering, manufacturing and logistics, to healthcare and early years care, through to business skills in IT, management and team leading.
After the acquisition, PTP managing director Rob Colbourne and his management team will continue to lead the company as part of the larger group. The deal will enable PTP to increase its delivery portfolio at a time when supporting employers and their staff is more important than ever.
BCTG is now looking forward to opening the doors of its new Construction Skills Centre in West Bromwich, hopefully in July, in time for this year’s school leavers. Just before the COVID-19 pandemic hit, BCTG had invested in the new training centre but had to move all of its construction theory courses online when the lockdown began.
