Scaffolding firm creates new jobs after contract wins
A scaffolding business with depots in the Black Country, Shropshire and East Midlands, has created a number of new jobs after securing two new contracts.
Altrad MTD has secured work with a national facilities management company, while Wolverhampton Homes, which manages and looks after more than 23,000 homes on behalf of Wolverhampton City Council, has been re-secured for a further three years.
The firm operates, which has depots in Oldbury, Telford and Loughborough, employs more than 140 people.
The contract wins – worth £400,000 – will the creation of 10 new jobs and will involve scaffolding and access for a mix of responsive repairs, planned maintenance and external wall installation works.
Altrad MTD has also secured preferred supplier status with affordable housing contractor, Wates Living Space, one of only two scaffolding and access providers to hold the status.
Tracey Hutton, managing director of Altrad MTD, said: “We have enjoyed strong growth across the business over the past 12 months and particularly in the Midlands through our depots in Oldbury, Telford and Loughborough.
“Our contract with the facilities management company will see MTD take on a number of new staff from the Midlands region.
“The three-year contract with Wolverhampton Homes was secured following a competitive tender process, during which we demonstrated our expertise within social housing, commitment to community partnerships and first class project management.”
Altrad MTD specialises in social housing and public sector projects and is a subsidiary of Altrad NSG, having been acquired in April 2012.
