Ten-storey office block bought for residential development
A ten-storey office block in West Bromwich has been bought for potential redevelopment into residential property. The instantly recognisable building stands just off junction one of the M5.
Intersection House was built in the 1970s and was previously occupied by Interserve. It has been vacant for nearly 18 months but has now been acquired by Claremont Property Group on behalf of Beyond Property Group.
Claremont and Beyond have already submitted an application for a residential-led scheme at the site, which extends to approximately 75,000 sq ft over 1.95 acres with 320 car parking spaces.
The £4m deal could bring much needed housing to the area as the mixed-use scheme submitted includes both residential and commercial use.
The prime location and sheer scale of the building offer significant redevelopment opportunities for the Birmingham based property developer, Beyond Property Group.
The unmistakable historic building stands at the gateway to West Bromwich and Birmingham from the M5 corridor, making it a desirable location with huge potential for development to benefit the needs of the local community as well as visitors to the region.
