Sandwell business Robinson’s Bakery is getting ready for Christmas with its festive range of treat, gift and share boxes that are available for collection or delivery this week.

We featured Robinson’s Bakery as our #MadeInSandwell star back in March this year but it seems like the perfect time to revisit them as the festive season is upon us.

Robinson’s is a proud Black Country “born and bread” bakery, as it declares on its website. It was originally a family-run firm based in West Bromwich but was taken over by M Firkin Ltd in 1982 and for a while the Robinson’s name disappeared from the borough.

In 2015 the Robinson’s brand was re-born under new ownership with a bakery in West Bromwich, followed by a branch in Oldbury and then one in Wolverhampton. Business boomed and in 2019 the company expanded into a purpose-built ‘cakery’ in West Bromwich.

Today the bakery continues to go from strength to strength while maintaining its ethos of remaining local and retaining its rich Black Country heritage.

For most of the year Robinson’s provides the residents and businesses of Sandwell with patisserie, sandwiches, freshly baked savouries, cupcakes, confectionary and celebration cakes. It is proud of the fact that it makes its own sandwich fillings in store daily and never uses ready-made bought-in fillings.

The firm roasts its own meats (for the famous pork, turkey and beef baps) and the dish of the day is always made to traditional recipes by its own chef. Robinson’s believes that the quality of the products it uses is paramount to its business success.
