Get involved in your community’s recovery

Business in the Community logoCommunity Conversation will bring together local people from business, the voluntary sector and local government to share ideas on supporting Sandwell’s recovery – and it needs you!

The initiative is being organised by Business in the Community, a membership organisation dedicated to promoting responsible business, and the Midland Metro Alliance, a partnership between the West Midlands Combined Authority, design experts and rail construction specialists. The aim is to share local knowledge and form collaborative partnerships, in order to build a more resilient Sandwell community and empower long term change.

Participants in the Community Conversation will need to attend two 90-minute networking sessions via Zoom, on Wednesday 24 February and Wednesday 10 March, both at 10.30am. These will be cross-sector discussions exploring ways in which to address local needs, and agreeing collaborative actions, which participants will commit to carrying out.

The first Community Conversation will focus on the benefits of improved connectivity with areas of opportunity and major employment sites, as well as the wider social and environmental issues. In session two, local community organisations have been invited to present a current challenge or idea.

If you would like to get involved, please register for both session one and session two, and email kelly.stackhouse@bitc.org.uk if you have any questions.
