New hotel offers luxury #MadeInSandwell
This week, West Midlands mayor Andy Street cut the ribbon on a brand new luxury hotel in Oldbury.
The Domo Boutique Hotel opened its doors to the public on Tuesday 18 May after a mayoral opening ceremony the day before. It is now available seven days a week, ready to welcome visitors looking for a stylish and luxurious stay away from home.
Based in a fully refurbished 150-year-old Georgian building, the hotel overlooks Christ Church Oldbury, a Grade II listed building. With marble floors, brass fittings and wall panelling, it mixes historical features with modern design.
The hotel contains five sumptuous suites, each individually designed to have a unique identity. The luxurious Regency Suite features gold and velvet, the serene Hygge Suite contains a hand made log bed.The opulent Mayfair Suite reflects the building’s Georgian past, while the Venetian Suite boasts chic continental style. Finally, the MoMarra Suite is inspired by the interiors of Morocco and Marrakesh.
The hotel also includes rainfall showers, designer wet rooms, and a colourful boutique café called Elham, which opens onto a courtyard for al fresco dining.
General manager Santa Bojarinova is excited to be bringing a slice of glamour and luxury to Oldbury, offering comfort, class and convenience to its overnight visitors. He said: “Sandwell is the perfect location for such a destination hotel, just four miles from Birmingham and less than a mile from the M5, giving it easy connections to the rest of the country. We also hope it acts as a gateway to the Black Country and everything the region has to offer. We can’t wait to hear what our guests have to say about the design elements of the hotel. We’ve put in a huge amount of work to get it right, and we think it offers something really special.”
