Make a pledge to lead the green revolution
The West Midlands Combined Authority are urging businesses in the region to lead the way towards a net zero carbon future by making an official pledge.
The West Midlands has committed to becoming a net zero carbon economy by 2041, and local businesses have a key part to play in achieving that ambitious target. By publicly putting your company’s name to the Net Zero Business Pledge, you will be:
- positioning your business as a leader in combatting climate change
- preparing your business to face the impacts of climate change
- reducing your environmental impact
- saving costs and increasing profit
You will also be able to use the official pledge logo on your company’s marketing materials, gain access to environmentally-focussed business networks and have the opportunity for your green credentials to be showcased and celebrated.
There are four parts to completing the pledge:
- Making a commitment to reduce your carbon emissions
- Working with others
- Becoming an ambassador
- Sharing your business challenges in relation to the pledge
If you are ready to make the pledge, you can start the registration process.
If you’d like more information, you can watch a video about the Net Zero Business Pledge, or email WM2041@wmca.org.uk with your questions. The WMCA is also hosting an information event at the Black Country Business Festival on Tuesday 5 October which will highlight the many benefits and opportunities of taking the pledge.
