Cover of Summer 2021 edition of Insite magazineSandwell Council has released the fourth edition of its digital magazine Insite, sharing regeneration and growth news for the borough.

Insite is published here on Think Sandwell. Compiled by the Regeneration & Growth team, it is designed to strengthen links between the council, residents and businesses, and update people on the projects underway in Sandwell.

The 14-page Summer 2021 edition contains information on Sandwell Aquatics Centre and four other major Sandwell regeneration projects: the Friar Park housing development, the masterplan for West Bromwich, the former Brandhall Golf Club site in Oldbury, and the Smethwick to Birmingham corridor.

There’s an update on the government’s Towns Fund programme in the borough; mental health resources from the Sandwell Business Ambassadors; and details of a public consultation on whether Sandwell should become a Smoke Control Area.

Council leader Councillor Rajbir Singh is passionate about achieving the council’s top priorities of boosting jobs, skills and business recovery in Sandwell. He said effective, well-written communications such as Insite can play a vital role in connecting the council with the public.

“I’m delighted to see so many facets of Sandwell Council’s Regeneration & Growth work represented in this latest edition of Insite. The activities of local authorities are not always well understood, so it’s exciting to be able to give people and businesses first hand information on the projects happening in their borough, plus clear ways to engage with council teams.

“I hope many people will take the opportunity to read Insite and find it refreshing and enlightening.”
