Workshops for managers: support your staff to stay at work

Scrabble tiles spelling out 'mental health'The Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust will be running free online workshops to help line managers support their colleagues’ workplace wellbeing.

Over fifteen million working days are lost every year due to mental ill health, and it is the reason for 39 per cent of all sickness absence. The trust’s Employment Retention Service aims to help people who experience mental health issues to stay in work, and return to work after a period of absence.

One way it is doing this is by offering a free two-hour session to managers, designed to help participants gain a better understanding of mental health issues. All attendees will have the opportunity to refer colleagues that have been identified as needing support for a free consultation and completion of a wellness action plan.

The workshops will be run online via Teams at 10am on the following dates:

  • Wednesday 1 December 2021
  • Wednesday 5 January 2022
  • Wednesday 2 February 2022
  • Wednesday 2 March 2022

Sessions are limited to fifteen people, and are filling up fast, so get in touch now if you’d like to take part. Email bchft.employmentretentionservice@nhs.net to book your free place.
