Anglo Holt completes £6.4m Jewellery Quarter hotel scheme

WEST Bromwich construction firm Anglo Holt has completed the £6.4m conversion of a former textile factory in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter into a new hotel for the Hampton by Hilton chain.

Anglo Holt, which is very active in the hotel construction sector, was awarded the design and build contract for the 109-bedroom hotel at Constitution Hill, Hockley by Mere Park.

Part of the listed façade of the existing building has been retained while the remainder of the existing factory has been demolished. The site’s boundaries include the Midland Metro line to two elevations, a main road to the front, and a Grade II listed pub.

Andy Elwell, managing director at Anglo Holt, said: “We are very pleased to announce that the new Hampton by Hilton hotel development in Birmingham’s historic Jewellery Quarter has been completed. It is another piece in the jigsaw of the regeneration of one of the most important parts of the city centre. Once again it demonstrates that clients value highly the experience and expertise Anglo Holt has gained in the hotel sector over many years.”
