Junction 10 update: December closures
There will be further closures of Junction 10 of the M6 as construction work continues. This will include some overnight closures, with some ‘up and over’ traffic diversions, and is very likely to affect journey times in the surrounding area.
In August and September, the construction team successfully lifted ten large beams into place to form the new bridges across the junction, and has completed the installation of new deck on both bridges. They are now working to install drainage throughout the various areas of site.
The closures are due to take place on the following dates:
- Thursday 2 and Friday 3 December
- Thursday 9 and. Friday 10 December
- Thursday 16 and Friday 17 December
However, this is subject to change, due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
Businesses are advised to encourage staff, suppliers, delivery drivers and customers to plan ahead. Information about the scheme, and details about the diversions, are on the project website. Transport for West Midlands also have a webpage with the latest updates and travel tips.
