New home for Tipton firm

Four thin copper pipes held in place in a wooden channel with an aluminium clip system.Tipton-based cable management specialist Direct Channel Support Systems has acquired new premises in Great Bridge, adding to its existing presence.

The family-run company, which was founded in 2010 by Sid and Rani Sidhu, specialises in cable management and support systems, and stocks a wide range of cable trays, basket trays, ladder rack, trunking, galvanised conduit as well as threaded rods, clips, brackets, clamps and other fixings. Its products are used extensively in the mechanical and electrical sectors, and in commercial heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.

The expansion into larger premises, made possible through a £578,000 funding package from Lloyds Bank, has enabled the business to grow its footprint in Tipton and increase its capacity for holding stock, 70 per cent of which is imported from countries across Europe as well as India and China.

Direct Channel Support Systems currently employs 16 people, but is now in the process of recruiting four more for the new site.
