Sandwell logistics company PDS Direct has agreed a deal for an industrial warehouse unit in West Bromwich. The unit, which is located on Halfords Lane, extends to 58,578 sq ft and was refurbished during 2021. 

The refurbishment incorporated a range of sustainability features such as roof-mounted self-cleaning solar PV panels, electric car charging points, air-source heat pumps and LED warehouse and office lighting.

It also has a new 50m deep service yard, 12 level-access doors and an eaves height of eight metres.

Established in 1979 as a local courier company, PDS Direct is now a logistics provider offering a full range of distribution and warehousing services to the UK and Western European markets. 

Its services include nationwide coverage for fragile distribution as well as warehousing and fulfilment. It holds and manages stock for several companies based in the UK and abroad and efficiently distributes it to their customers. 

PDS Direct had been looking for an additional site for some time to enable its next period of growth however demand for sustainable logistics properties in the borough is high, making them hard to come by.

Congratulations to PDS Direct for sealing the deal with landlord Custodian REIT. The West Bromwich unit suits PDS Direct’s distribution model perfectly and the eco-friendly features are a real positive asset for the site.
