CLA expands in Wednesbury
CLA Fabrications has added to its Wednesbury footprint by purchasing two units at GWS Trading Estate on Leabrook Road for £2m.
The business, which was founded ten years ago, manufactures metal railings, security gates and mesh fencing systems, using “the most efficient manufacturing process in the UK”. It already operates from a 45,000 sq ft site across two units on Potters Lane. The new units will add another 45,000 sq ft, and raise the number of employees across the company from 60 to 80.
The purchase was made possible due to recent rapid growth – the company saw its biggest ever sales in January 2021, and a 49 per cent growth in turnover over the last year. With several more large contracts signed for next year, and an 80 per cent growth forecast, the business needed room to expand
Not only will the new site enable CLA to manufacture more stock, it also comes with 1.35 acres of secure yard space, which means CLA can expand its in-stock product range, and deliver to customers even more effectively via the nearby motorway network.
Think Sandwell congratulates CLA Fabrications on its success, and wishes the company all the best for its new site. To find out how our team can support your business to grow, find new premises or access finance, visit our business services pages.
