West Bromwich ‘meet the buyer’ opportunity
Update on Thursday 8 April! You now have until this Monday (11 April) to register your interest in attending.
West Midlands businesses! Come and learn about the supply chain opportunities at enfinium’s new waste-to-energy facility on Kelvin Way in West Bromwich. The event, organised by enfinium and contractor ACCIONA, will set out the goods and services needed for the construction and operation of the new site.
Construction on the facility started at the end of 2021 and will last three years. When completed, the finished plant will divert 395,000 tonnes of non-recyclable household and business waste from landfill and use it to generate 44MW of renewable energy every year. This is equivalent to the needs of more than 95,000 UK homes.
The drop-in style ‘meet the buyer’ event will take place at Sandwell College’s Spon Lane campus on Thursday 21 April. The day will be split into three sessions:
- 8am to 10.30am: construction and civil engineering
- 11am to 3pm: ancillary and site support services
- 4pm to 5.30pm: construction and civil engineering
It will offer the opportunity to meet representatives of the project to discuss skills and experience, and find out more about the project’s approach to procurement.
Mike Maudsley, Chief Executive Officer at enfinium, said “Major infrastructure projects are uniquely placed to create significant numbers of jobs and great supply chain opportunities for local businesses. We’re absolutely committed to ensuring businesses operating locally to our enfinium Kelvin project can put themselves in the best position to compete for the significant opportunities we’ll be creating in the coming years. I would encourage any business that thinks it can contribute goods or services to go online and register their interest for this event.”
Places are free but limited. Businesses wishing to attend should register on the website before midday on Monday 4 April. Successful applicants will receive confirmation of their place at the event by close of play on Monday 11 April.
