Oldbury offices open for business
Black Country House, a suite of offices in Oldbury, is now fully let, showing a buoyant market for working space in the town.
The 36,252 sq ft building on Rounds Green Road was originally the headquarters of Accles & Pollock, famous for the world’s first all-metal aircraft the Mayfly. It was bought by Goold Estates in 2008 and, after a £2m refurbishment, is now occupied by five very different companies.
Endole UK is a business intelligence provider which develops data analysis software with a mission to “help organisations of all sizes, across every industry, incorporate business intelligence into the very core of their operations.” It has worked with big brands, such as Ford, Barclays and Aviva, and also has offices in London and Birmingham.
Established in 2013, NHS Property Services is a government-owned company with branches across the UK. Its purpose is to help the NHS get the most from its estate, and currently has over 3000 NHS properties on its books. In the Midlands, one of its projects is working with the local clinical commissioning group to make the most of Aston Pride Health Centre.
The Shaw Trust was established in 1982 and works in partnership with other organisations to help people into employment, challenge inequality and enable social mobility. It is the UK’s largest not-for-profit social enterprise in the employment sector and delivers contracts on behalf of the DWP, ESFA and other government agencies.
Crowe is a leading national audit, tax, advisory and risk firm. It is a member of Crowe Global, one of the top ten accounting networks in the world. As well as its Oldbury offices, Crowe has premises in Cheltenham, Maidstone, Tunbridge Wells, London, Manchester and Reading.
The final lease at Black Country House has been taken by Bulleys Chartered Surveyors. The business is the appointed letting agent for the building, and brokered the deals with Endole and NHS Property Services, before relocating its own office there. Bulleys was established in 1965 and operates across the West Midlands and Shropshire, with additional premises in Wolverhampton and Telford.
All five businesses are now enjoying the advantages that Oldbury has to offer. Black Country House is less than a mile from Junction 2 of the M5, within walking distance of Sandwell & Dudley train station, next to Oldbury Green Retail Park and opposite a large superstore.
