#MadeInSandwell: Walsh Funerals & Memorials caring for the community at the most difficult times
This #MadeInSandwell Monday we’re giving centre stage to Walsh Funerals & Memorials, a well-established firm of funeral directors and memorial masons that has recently opened a new fully refurbished funeral home in West Bromwich.
Walsh Funerals & Memorials is based at the heart of the community and serves the borough by supporting families during very difficult times. The company was founded by Andrew Walsh, who has built his dedicated team to offer a highly professional but caring service.
The family run firm is unique in that it has a full team of female funeral directors, led by Marie Perry. It even offers a funeral service known as ‘Ladies in White’, during which all of the funeral attire is white.
Marie and her team are there to guide families with calm and sensitivity. Walsh Funerals & Memorials prides itself on providing reassurance, support and compassion and its team of ladies is highly regarded in this area.
With years of experience the team does its utmost to make funeral assistance simple, clear and in accordance with the wishes of families’ loved ones. Its reputation is built on trust and recommendation within the local community and it always aims to provide the highest standard of care and service to each and every person.
Walsh Funerals & Memorials has a long-standing funeral home in Bloxwich, Walsall, while its premises in West Bromwich used to be a memorial masons called Strongs Memorials. Although the company has owned Strongs Memorials for over 20 years, it only recently rebranded this site to match its Bloxwich memorial masons and at the same time converted it into a funeral home.
The newly refurbished private funeral lounge and chapel of rest in West Bromwich offers all the same services as the Bloxwich branch, including funeral planning, bespoke memorials, arranging transport, floral tributes, dove release, obituaries, memory bears, charity donations, selecting music and hymns, and a memorial showroom where you can view many of the memorials that it can provide.
Walsh Funerals & Memorials also offers home visits if a customer is unable to come to them or feels more comfortable in their own home.
A strong community spirit
Andrew Walsh told us: “Being funeral directors we are very community based and want to be involved in local community life. Whether that is through supporting local charities, helping to promote local good causes or serving the people of the borough during difficult times. We know that Sandwell has lots to offer when it comes to a strong community spirit and we’re proud to be at the heart of that.”
He continued: “With over 40 years of experience in the memorial industry you can be assured that with us you will be dealing with the best people in the field when it comes to arranging a funeral or memorial. Most of us at some point in our lives are faced with the painful task of choosing a suitable memorial for a loved one and the memorial you choose will forever honour the life of someone you love.”
Walsh Funerals & Memorials has also invested in creating its own memorials and to ensure that it is supplying families with the highest quality of granite possible the company has its own quarry in India. Along with the skilled craftsmen based in India, it has a workshop in England at its Bloxwich premises, where headstones are worked on by its own trained artists.
