Fund open for Black Country property improvements

Small to medium-sized companies in the Black Country are being urged to apply for funding to help them expand or create new business accommodation.

Funding is being made available through the Black Country Business Property Investment Programme (BCBPIP), supported by the European Regional Development Fund and managed by the Department for Communities and Local Government.

Contributions from Walsall, Dudley, Sandwell and Wolverhampton councils have been added to the pot of funding, supported by potential investment from private sector businesses taking part in the programme.

The cash will be made available to improve existing business premises and help develop and create new accommodation.

Councillor Adrian Andrew, deputy leader and portfolio holder for regeneration and transport for Walsall Council, said: “As a local authority we want to show our support by helping businesses create jobs and opportunities in Walsall and the Black Country.

“Building high-quality premises for business is important as it helps stimulate new jobs and investment.”
