A Black Country haulier has expanded its business after securing a new funding deal.

Clarke Transport, a family run haulage and transportation business, has won the backing of Santander Corporate & Commercial with a £475,000 funding package to assist with the purchase of five new trucks.

 

 

 

 

 
Established in 1933, the Oldbury business specialises in the transportation of semi hazardous materials including chemicals and paint. The business operates from a number of depots across the country including Glasgow, Wakefield, Manchester, Bridgend Southampton and Luton. The firm currently employs more than 400 staff and on average carries 3,400 consignments a day.

The company will use the funding to purchase five new Mercedes trucks, adding to their existing fleet of over 200 vehicles.

The need for the additional vehicles comes after the firm won a contract with Sika, worth £1.25m per annum for the next five years. To support ongoing growth, the business plans to recruit a number of new drivers to facilitate the new contract.
