Morton returns with West Brom glazing buy

A business founded by the former chief executive of Industrial Engineering Plastics has acquired a West Bromwich glazing manufacturer, advised on by professionals in the region.

Boing Boing Group (BBG), set up by Gary Morton, has bought Reliant Products, which trades as Central RPL.

The deal comes three months after Morton founded BBG and six months since he left Industrial Engineering Plastics.

The corporate team at Higgs & Sons worked on the buyout.

Morton said: “Central RPL is a business I am familiar with and was an obvious choice for our first acquisition.

“After a period of strategic development, which includes some ambitious growth targets, we will stabilise the team, implement systems and then proceed on to our second target.

“We will also further develop the group over the coming years with at least two further strategic acquisitions in the pipeline. Watch this space.”

Joining Morton on the board of BBG will be Martyn Elwell (sales and marketing), David Martin, of Thomas Nock Martin Accountants, and Richard Griffiths, a partner in Higgs & Sons’ corporate team, who will take up the post of non-executive director.

Griffiths said: “Iam delighted to be invited to take up the post of non-executive director and to support BBG with its acquisition plans. I look forward to helping the group go from strength to strength.”

The deal was funded by Aldermore Invoice Finance and HSBC.
