#madeinsandwell Monday star has the Supertouch to keep people safe at work

Our #madeinsandwell Monday star this week is Supertouch (www.supertouch.com), providing personal protective equipment (PPE) to organisations all over the UK to help keep their workforces safe.

Hairnet from SupertouchFamily-run Supertouch employs over fifty staff and prides itself on delivering outstanding customer service. It specialises in the manufacture and supply of high-quality PPE and workwear, including bespoke products with customised colours, logos, embroidery or trim.

Whether it’s high-visibility jackets for railway workers, disposable gloves for food safety, lab coats for technicians or flame-retardant coveralls for high-risk environments, Supertouch believes in supplying workwear at a consistent quality and competitive price.

Established in 1996 and part of Allied International Trading Limited, Supertouch is now based in Smethwick, having moved from Brentwood in Essex in 2016. The company relocated to Sandwell because of our second-to-none transport infrastructure and skilled workforce.

In the summer through to the autumn of 2017 Supertouch engaged with our business growth team here at Sandwell Council. We provided support and advice through the AIM for the Black Country project and referred Supertouch for Black Country Transformational GOLD funding. The application was successful and the company was able to develop its website in order to supply new products to an ever-growing market of customers. We’re delighted to be able to offer Supertouch ongoing support whenever needed.

Supertouch’s products are used across a wide range of industries with myriad applications. The company also offers product advice and rapid, reliable delivery.

High visibility from SupertouchHaving been in the safety business for 20 years and with a wealth of technical know-how, Supertouch often helps customers to choose the right products to mitigate safety risks appropriately. It services include site visits and safety audits to help recommend the appropriate safety products for each hazard or risk.

Supertouch also trains its customers in the use of its products and helps familiarise them with safety standards. Its dedicated technical team helps organisations ensure their ongoing compliance with all necessary British, European and international standards.

Arsalan Sultan, financial controller for the company, described the Supertouch strategy. “It’s one of strong growth, which we aim to achieve by continually providing high-quality products and high standards of customer service,” he said. “Above all, it’s the commitment of our employees that help us to achieve this growth, as they continue to look after our valuable, and valued, UK customer base”.

In 2016 Supertouch was identified as one of the London Stock Exchange’s ‘1000 Companies to Inspire’. The report is a celebration of the UK’s fastest-growing and most dynamic small and medium-sized businesses.

“Supertouch was selected after demonstrating a positive growth in revenue over the last four years and for significantly outperforming our sector peers,” said Arsalan. “We’re delighted with this recognition which we believe not only demonstrates the value of SMEs to the UK economy but is also testament to the efforts of our employees in delivering excellent customer service.”
