Plans for 84 new homes in Wednesbury
A derelict school site in Wednesbury could be transformed into 84 new homes, once construction resumes.
Proposals for the development of the abandoned site on Friar Park Road could reduce crime and bring new residents and business to the area.
The site was once home to Manor High School, which closed in 2010. It then became Phoenix Collegiate, before closing for good in 2015. Over the last five years, it has become a target for vandalism, arson and antisocial behaviour.
Outline plans submitted to Sandwell Council include the creation of a range of two, three and four-bedroom houses, public spaces, footpaths, play areas and infrastructure, with easy access to the nearby Pulse sports site.
Once the UK is out of lockdown and building work can commence, Think Sandwell will follow the progress of the plans and report any updates as soon as we have them. To find out how we can help your business find its perfect home, visit our Planning Support pages.
