Sandwell truck and parts dealer reports record turnover

Five people in suits standing in front of a Keltruck logo on the wall Sandwell headquartered Scania truck and parts dealer Keltruck reported record turnover during its last financial year.

As well as its base in West Bromwich, Keltruck has 20 sites across the Midlands and South Wales and is one of the largest Scania truck and parts dealers in Europe. It reported a turnover of £208.8m for the 12 months to 31 December 2019, up from £156.9m the previous financial year.

Its pre-tax profits went from £5.1m to £5.4m over the same period, however the company’s chairman warned that the business expects its financial results to be dampened in 2020 because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Despite the Coronavirus crisis all of the firm’s sites remained open throughout the lockdown with revised hours of operation to support vital economic activity, including the movement by road of food, medicines, fuel and construction materials, along with maintenance for buses and coaches.

The firm’s directors believe that the results show Keltruck’s continued financial strength and that the business is well placed to capitalise on opportunities as the country recovers from the pandemic and implements new international trading arrangements.

The company recently invested in a container loading facility at its West Bromwich headquarters, which has enabled it to containerise more stock more quickly to support its international customers.

It will also continue to work closely with its staff and customers to respond to levels of demand.
