Over four years, a funding programme has helped 92 businesses in Sandwell with face-to-face support and, in many cases, grant funding.

The events range from breakfast seminars and trade masterclasses, and are held regularly in and around Sandwell.

Join the Black Country Skills Factory at their free Engineering Apprenticeship Breakfast Surgery to find out more about the new Level 3 Engineering Apprenticeship Progression Subsidy launched in January 2014. The meeting is open to High Value Manufacturing SMEs in the Black Country and will cover:
• The Black Country Skills Factory – who they are, what they offer, programmes being delivered (including the Level 2 Performing Engineering Operations apprenticeship subsidy).
• Information on the new Level 3 Engineering Apprenticeship Progression Subsidy including who is eligible and terms and conditions.
Companies will also have the opportunity to network with local apprenticeship providers who will be available to answer questions on engineering apprenticeships.
Parking at the venue is free and there will be a breakfast selection available on arrival.

The Black Country Consortium invites you to attend the 2014 Black Country Economic Review on Thursday 27 February at the Copthorne Hotel in Brierley Hill.
The event will reveal the latest in a series of annual reports produced by the Black Country Consortium Economic Intelligence team. The review will present an overview of the Black Country’s current position and relative performance against national economic indicators.
The agenda is as follows:
• 8.30am -registration, drinks and breakfast sandwiches
• 9am - welcoming address by councillor David Sparks
• 9.05am -presentation of Black Country performance by Sarah Middleton, CEO Black Country Consortium
• 9.40am -overview of the Black Country Local Enterprise Partnership by Stewart Towe, LEP chair
• 10am -questions and answers
• 10.15am -closing comments by councillor David Sparks
• 10.20am - networking, drinks.
