Develop your BIM skills & get BIM ready to supply the Midland Metropolitan Hospital (MMH)

Think Sandwell’s first BIM Awareness Workshop of 2016 takes place on Tuesday 16 February and we’ve lined up a valuable BIM session with Carillion’s MMH project team, the principle contractor who’ll design, construct and operate Sandwell’s newest landmark health facility, the Midland Metropolitan Hospital (MMH) in Grove Lane, Smethwick.
Carillion will use the MMH as an exemplar BIM (Building Information Modelling) project to collaborate with the supply chain for electronic storage and use of digital data, BIM will help them to deliver:
- Collaboration across the entire supply chain and build programme; and
- Optimised 3D design for manufacturing, component assembly and asset management opportunities.
In order to achieve these ambitions, the supply chain’s BIM skills must match BIM Level 2 capabilities.
Attendees get to spend the morning with senior designers and BIM experts from Carillion’s MMH project team , plus meet some likeminded suppliers looking to get to grips with Building Information Modelling (BIM).
Sandwell Council’s popular BIM Awareness sessions are ideal for business owners, directors, product designers and senior business development managers looking for client and project direction on BIM adoption. As part of a small group, you’ll gain essential knowledge on developing a BIM adoption plan, learn how to create your 3D BIM objects and where this digital engineering technology fits within your business. Find out how BIM could significantly increase your market reach, exploit new markets and help you win contracts aligned to the Midland Metropolitan Hospital (MMH).
There will be plenty of valuable networking time - plus the unique chance to spend the whole morning with some of the project team involved in key design considerations for the new Midland Metropolitan Hospital in Smethwick.
