Award Winning 'Most Innovative Business’ Avatar 3D is hosting the first of its series of knowledge exchange workshops in 3D Printing, also known as Additive Manufacturing (AM).

The ‘Ingenium’ 3D Printer designed and manufactured in the UK, with Autodesk Fusion 360 Computer Aided Design Software (CAD) is available for you to design and create your own bespoke product.

This two day short course, the 'Essentials of 3D Printing'  ignites the participant's creativity through professional instruction pertaining to product model design and development using an Additive Manufacturing process that is also known as 3D Printing.

The participants will have an understanding of the flexibility of solid modelling using Autodesk Fusion 360 CAD software and the use of a 3D Printing Process which can be applied in the real world of product development, for example creating everything from fuel nozzles for civil aircraft to hip replacements.

This course is designed for designers, engineers, architects, manufacturing engineers and teachers. Though anyone who is curious about 3D printing will benefit from the workshop including, makers or inventors, artists, and business owners looking to understand the role 3D printing could play in their business may be particularly drawn to the course.

The topics will include conversion of a 2D Sketch to 3D Design using a Computer Aided Design software package called Fusion 360, the 3D printing process using ‘CURA’ slicing software to make your own bespoke product using environmentally friendly materials, and examples of the diverse range of applications for 3D Printing.
