Energy Saving Convention

A Smarter Future for Sustainable Energy in Buildings

This year we have 6 highly influential and inspiring speakers that have scanned the future in their field and tell us how smart technology can help designers, manufacturers, builders and users of buildings to save energy.

Alastair Parvin founder of the Wikihouse project will tell us how his open source housing concept can allow the people to design and ‘print’ their own houses and how this innovative, off-site approach can positively impact on the supply of low cost homes in UK and globally.

Jimmy Aldridge IPPR will explain the newly announced changes to government policy and regulation (November 2016 planned policy announcement). It will be interesting to compare the UK government’s view on possible changes to with that of our exciting speakers.

Bill Dunster of ZEDfactory champion of zero-carbon building designs will explain how sustainable development is both affordable and achievable within current market constraints.

Jeremy Williams who’s influential blog has been scanning the domestic and global energy horizons for many years will give us an insight into the one of the big drivers which will transform the global energy usage landscape; battery storage.

Katie Critchlow of Powervault looking at the energy storage scene – will be able to inform on battery technology and explain the predicted cost reductions over the next 5 years.

Jonathan Berry of Western Power Distribution will explain how the grid infrastructure is changing to a SMART grid to accommodate the renewable energy revolution and the opportunities this will bring to business and society.
