Wednesbury site sale to create 200 jobs
A former Carcraft showroom site in Wednesbury has been bought by another car sales company, with the promise of hundreds of jobs for the region.
The 13-acre site on Darlaston Road has been empty since Carcraft vacated it in 2015, making 60 people redundant. However, it looks set to spring back into life after being purchased by the Trade Centre Wales, the largest car seller in Wales.
The business has headquarters in Neath plus showrooms in Abercynon and Merthyr. Plans to open another showroom in Wednesbury will bring 200 new jobs to the area, although the business will trade under a different brand name, as yet to be revealed.
Last week, the Trade Centre Wales’ chairman, Mark Bailey, flew into Wednesbury by helicopter to view the site and will soon meet with Sandwell Council to discuss the company’s plans. The prospective boost to employment brings very welcome Christmas cheer to the Black Country’s automotive sector.
Think Sandwell welcomes the Trade Centre Wales team to the region and wishes them all the best with their new venture. If you’re looking for new premises for your business, go to our Property & Planning pages to find out how we can help.
