Sandwell Council has teamed up with iChoosr and Make It Cheaper, the UK’s top energy comparison and energy switching service, to help local businesses save money by getting a better energy deal.

Across the country four out of five businesses are not doing anything about their energy bills and SMEs are paying on average 35 per cent more for their energy. This is largely because the owners of small businesses have very little time or do not know where to start looking for a new energy supplier as switching can be complex with so many different kinds of tariffs and meters.

Business tariffs are not published like domestic tariffs and SMEs cannot switch without following time-bound termination procedures. By collaborating with iChoosr and Make It Cheaper the council hopes to make the switch easier and smoother for Sandwell SMEs.

Businesses can save on average £1150 per year* when switching their energy contracts but conducting the research to find the best energy deal for their needs can be extremely time consuming. Make It Cheaper helps by compiling a list of quotes from a wide variety of suppliers and then talking through each of the deals, giving tailored advice on what best suits the needs of the particular business.

Make It Cheaper will even setup the new contract for your business to save you time as well as money. All you have to do is call them on 0800 188 4919 and provide a few details about your business or fill in a form online at https://www.makeitcheaper.com/business-energy.aspx.
