5G is coming, and consortium 5PRING is on a mission to help West Midlands businesses harness its power.

There are three main programmes. 5PRING Educate involves a series of virtual workshops and Q&A sessions with experts to help organisations increase their understand of what 5G is, and the potential it offers. 5PRING Incubate is a two-week programme of talks, one-to-one coaching and activities that culminate in a day of demonstration and pitching, with a focus on planning and enabling specific 5G business solutions. 5PRING Accelerate is a three-month tailored programme providing technical and business support for organisations developing ambitious 5G innovations.
There are also other programmes and events. In 2020, 5PRING worked with utilities company Suez and the WMCA to establish the Green Innovation Challenge. Ten start-ups are now on the programme, developing new green technologies with the help of coaching, mentoring and expertise from 5PRING consortium members, with access to a private 5G network.
In March, 5PRING will be hosting a series of free virtual events to mark the opening of their three West Midlands hubs at Wolverhampton Science Park, Innovation Birmingham Campus and University of Warwick Science Park.
