A clear choice for walls, windows, doors and roofs #madeinsandwell

Park Regis Hotel, Birmingham. APiC supplied and installed aluminium windows; aluminium curtain walling and doors to the hotel’s ground-floor retail areas, and the glazed feature to the ‘sky bar’ at roof level.

This week’s #madeinsandwell Monday star is APiC. Based at Sandwell Business Park in Smethwick, APiC has been cladding and glazing buildings across the UK for over a decade. Its mission statement is simply ‘to meet customers’ expectations’, and its recent form shows the company clearly succeeding.

APiC was founded in 2006 to design, fabricate and install aluminium curtain walling, doors and screens, roof glazing and structural glazing systems. Starting with a team of 25, the company now has a highly skilled workforce of 85, including qualified engineers operating machinery across 48,000 square feet of space in Smethwick and West Bromwich.

APiC has worked on a wide range of refurbishments and new builds including residential, health, education, retail, leisure, commercial and industrial developments in places as far afield as Stockport and Telford, Berkshire and West Sussex.

APiC’s largest project to date is the 2015 refurbishment of De Montfort University in Leicester. The £4.7m scheme involved installing new curtain walling, windows and doors to the Arts Tower, Design Wing, Food Court and Pod of the new main campus.

Sales director Andrew Stapleton recently told the Express & Star: “De Montfort was a big, important job for us in so many ways really. It led to the opportunity to work on some new landmark buildings being added to the Birmingham skyline.”

One of these is the prestigious Left Bank Apartments, a new 22-storey complex of 189 luxury flats on Broad Street in Birmingham. APiC is providing aluminium windows, curtain walling and doors to the apartments as well as the ground floor retail development, which is expected to be completed in summer 2018.

These, and other projects, mean that APiC has not only bettered its projected budget for the year, but has a full order book going forward into 2017 and a number of projects in the pipeline, well into the future.
