Act now to secure your share of £1m business-boosting grants
Is your business ready to grow? Business grants ranging from £50,000 to £1m are up for grabs for Sandwell companies looking to expand and create jobs in the borough. And Sandwell Council’s Think Sandwell team is here to help you access the money.
The £6.5m Growing Priority Sectors Local Growth Fund (LGF) is managed by Sandwell Council on behalf of Black Country LEP and is aimed at Black Country businesses who are seeking funding for their capital expenditure plans. This is in addition to Green Shoots Plus+ which offers grants from £10k to £150k, and is managed by the University of Wolverhampton.
If you’re looking to invest in new technology, relocate to larger premises or diversify and reach new markets, the LGF may be perfect for your business. Depending on the size of your organisation, LGF could cover between 10 per cent and 30 per cent of the funding you need.
Sandwell Council’s Think Sandwell team is here to help you access the grant. During the last round of funding we helped local businesses to create and/or safeguard up to 1,063 jobs over the life of the project. Since the programme was launched in 2012, the start-ups, SMEs and larger enterprises we have supported have spent £52m on their growth plans, of which £11m was grant funded.
Councillor Paul Moore, elected member for regeneration and economic investment, said: “Grants like this are good news for Sandwell. They boost the local economy and encourage companies to become sustainable businesses with a long-term future in the borough.
“The LGF grants will help Sandwell and Black Country businesses to achieve their commercial objectives and create opportunities to unlock talent in the area.
“I urge local companies to take advantage of this fantastic opportunity and apply today.”
The first stage of the process involves interested companies making an Expression of Interest. The Black Country Growth Hub’s Access to Finance team will then review submitted forms. Where projects are suitable for Green Shoots Plus+ or Local Growth Fund, an invitation to submit a full application would be sent.
Please see our Access to Finance pages for more information and to apply.
