Air quality in Sandwell: have your say
Sandwell Council is updating its air quality action plan and consulting Sandwell residents and other stakeholders such as business owners to hear what they think about proposals to improve air quality.
Sandwell is an area that historically had poor air quality due to industrial emissions. This is not so strongly the case now thanks to cleaner technology, and the closure of many traditional heavy industrial premises. But there is still room for improvement. The main air quality issue in our region today is traffic pollution due to high traffic volume and congestion. Many households are situated close to the road network.
For business purposes, we are fortunate to have a busy motorway network running through the heart of Sandwell. But this takes its toll on air quality too.
So Sandwell Council is gathering feedback which will be used to help form a new air quality action plan later this year. The consultation process is open now and will close on Tuesday 1 May 2018.
Please do take some time to download and read the proposals here and then complete this short questionnaire. Feel free to share this with your colleagues and local customers.
