Black Country House fully let

Black Country House in Oldbury is now fully let after a radio station owner and a manufacturer took the last of the space in the building.

Orion Media, owner of Free Radio, Gem106 and Free Radio80’s, has taken 1,500 sq ft of ground floor accommodation on a ten-year lease with a break at the fifth year. It has created a new broadcasting studio in the building having relocated from current premises in Wolverhampton.

Otis, the lift, escalator and moving walkway maker, is moving into 3,500 sq ft on the same lease term.

Property owner Goold Estates completed the first phase of refurbishment at Black Country House two years ago.

Managing director Dominic Goold said: “Our first letting to Crowe Clark Whitehall was crucial and was the catalyst to finding other occupiers. We spent £1.75m on the comprehensive refurbishment of the façade, reception area, common parts, new lifts and the second floor office area.

“Since then we have secured lettings to Defence Security Systems, Prospect Services, Cygnia Technologies and finally these latest two lettings.”

He added the company was now looking for new opportunities in the office and industrial sectors in the Midlands.

Goold owns and manages more than 300,000 sq ft of office, retail, industrial and warehouse space across the Midlands.
