Components company forging ahead in Sandwell
A cold forging company which exports more than half its products worldwide to many of the key automotive original equipment manufacturers has expanded its Sandwell base in its drive for further growth.
Complex Cold Forming Limited, at the Bescot Estate, Wednesbury, has increased its workforce from 18 to 28 in the last three years and invested almost £2 million in machinery since early 2011.
Now it has taken on an additional 9,050 sq ft to take its base to more than 35,500 sq ft at the estate, which is owned and managed by London and Cambridge Properties Ltd (LCP).
The company manufactures specialist cold forged components for the automotive marketplace and has seen increased orders from the USA, South America, India, China and Malaysia.
Kevin Edwards, one of the owners and directors, said: “We have increased our business over the last three years and have many new projects won for 2013 and beyond. We took on the extra space to accommodate the increases in volumes and to streamline production.
“We have been at Bescot for six years now and we plan to continue to expand. We have a growth plan of 20% per year and we are on track to meet those targets.
“It is a tough marketplace but we have a skilled workforce, the right business ethics and we are globally competitive. We feel we are something of a well kept secret so we want to do more to promote the business.
“We have exhibited for the first time at the Global Automotive Components and Suppliers Expo in Stuttgart in June which helped us to showcase the company.”
The Bescot Estate, Wednesbury, currently has one unit available for rent of 18,083 sq ft. The estate is accessed via Woden Road West, which links with Darlaston Road (A462) and the Black Country New Road within easy access to the motorway network via Junction 9 of the M6.
Owner LCP is one of the UK’s largest private owners of industrial, retail and office property to let. Its total commercial property portfolio runs to more than 14 million sq ft which is held for long term investment purposes. For more details visit www.lcpproperties.co.uk.
