One of SanStewart Towe. Hadley Groupdwell’s biggest employers has acquired a Dutch manufacturing firm in a multi-million pound deal.

Smethwick-based Hadley Group, the UK’s largest manufacturer of cold roll-formed sections, has acquired Overeem BV – a company based in Holland which has been established 85 years.

Overeem has more than 60 employees and a turnover of around €16m (£11.2m). It specialises in manufacturing complex specialist roll-formed profiles, particularly for the automotive industry, and also operates in sectors that include air-conditioning control, construction, furniture, interior engineering and lighting.

Hadley Group – which employs over 500 people worldwide and has a turnover of around £100m – says buying Overeem will help to strengthen its global position, and support its expansion within the automotive sectors.

Sandwell Council leader Councillor Darren Cooper congratulated Hadley Group on the acquisition. “This is excellent news not only for Hadley Group, one of our region’s highly esteemed businesses, but it also helps to further strengthen the West Midlands’ already impressive reputation as a leading global light in manufacturing,” he said. “We wish them all the best.”
