Consider security as lockdown lifts

Counter Terrorism Policing logoAs trading restrictions ease and businesses start to open, it’s important for managers to consider security as well as social distancing and hygiene in their re-opening plans.

There are a number of quick and easy checks you can do to protect against crime while considering coronavirus precautions. For example, if you have a smaller number of staff on shift, make sure it’s clear who is in charge of security and that they have the relevant training.

If your business has been closed for a while, another thing to check is that the CCTV is still working and that no emergency exits have been blocked. Queueing due to social distancing, staff working from home and workers unhappy at losing hours are also factors to consider in relation to safety and security.
