Direct Corporate Clothing’s turnaround makes them number one!
The Oldbury-based workwear manufacturer has turned around a £3.2m loss during the 18 months to 31 March 2019, and is once again making a profit.
The company, which supplies uniforms and corporate workwear to some of the largest companies in the world, including BT, Openreach, XPO Logistics, Yodel, Veolia, Kier Group and Morrison Utility Services, reported pre-tax profits of £3.4m, as well as a £5m increase in like-for-like turnover.
This impressive change in fortune means they have topped this year’s list of the 50 fastest growing companies in Sandwell.
A statement signed off by the board attributed the results to a structural overhaul: “Business processes have been substantially reviewed and improved through the appointment of stronger management. The control environment is more defined with clearer levels of approval and authorisation.”
The board is also optimistic that DCC will continue to thrive. “Trading has remained strong and the business is focused on growing revenues with its existing as well as new customers. The business has developed a strong pipeline of potential customers and is working on this to ensure that the tendering process is robust.”
