Expanding exporting
If you run a business in the West Midlands and are thinking of expanding into new international markets, then help and support are on hand.
The DIT (Department for International Trade) has launched a new initiative providing free sessions to help companies based in the region extend their reach into new overseas areas.
The sessions focus on topics such as adapting products to overseas markets, internationalising websites and literature, relationship building, customer service expectations and negotiating skills. Whether your target territory is in Europe, Asia or the Middle East, the masterclasses will give you an overview of the history, morals and ethics of the local culture. The tailored packages are equally relevant to businesses dipping their first toe into international sales as they are to experienced exporters looking to venture into a new territory. They are also designed so that companies can host the sessions at their own convenience on their own premises.
For more information about what the Department for International Trade can do for you, visit their website, or visit their listing page to see details of specific events coming up across the region. The government’s ‘Opportunities’ site also provides details of goods and services that are currently in demand in particular countries, from detection systems in Poland to dental equipment in Australia.
And don’t forget that Think Sandwell and the Black Country Growth Hub both provide a range of support services for businesses in the region.
