Free online work skills training now available

In this time of economic uncertainty, the Adult Skills for Work programme aims to help people aged 19+ who are looking to boost their skills and develop their careers.

The training, funded by the West Midlands Combined Authority and delivered by Serco, offers a wide range of fully-funded and part-funded courses which can be accessed online. Learners can download course materials at any time and will be allocated a dedicated skills advisor to develop an individual training programme. The courses lead to recognised, accredited qualifications and can be tailored to the specific needs of the individual or their business.

Training is available in English, Maths, Construction, Engineering, Warehousing and Storage for Retail, Business Administration and IT. There are also a number of courses from the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health – applications for these must be made by an employer and be specific to a learner’s job role.

To apply, learners must be eligible to work in the UK, be aged 19 or above and the training must be delivered in the West Midlands by one of the contracted training providers. For more information, or to make an enquiry, go to the Adult Skills for Work website.

Think Sandwell can also help businesses with staff development. Visit our Recruitment and Training pages to find out how.
