Location, location, location: Oldbury trading estate now full
When it comes to location, businesses can’t beat Sandwell as the place to be!
Companies in the know include specialist bed retailer Dreams, which has just leased two of the final three units at the Granada Trading Estate in Oldbury. It has taken Units 2 and 3/3A, both approximately 35,000 sq ft, on five-year leases.
The bed company has also renewed its lease on the 13,266 sq ft units 6 and 7 for a further five years.
These latest lettings bring Dreams’ occupancy on the 320,143 sq ft Granada Trading Estate to around 195,000 sq ft. The company has been a resident on the industrial estate since 2006, when it opened an 84,000 sq ft factory there.
The Oldbury factory now manufactures over 200,000 mattresses a year and over 160,000 beds.
Established in 1985, Dreams employs 1,900 people across the country and sells 10,000 mattresses, bases and headboards per week to customers nationwide through its store network of over 195 sites and online.
The Granada estate is now fully let following another recent lease taken on Unit 8 by Jetman UK Ltd, a start-up manufacturer of bathroom products. There was a lot of interest in the remaining units due to their excellent location close to Junction 2 of the M5 and a shortage of available storage and distribution space in the area.
The lettings demonstrate the importance of the strategically placed Black Country at the heart of the country and show the strength of the industrial and logistics market here in the West Midlands.
