Mayor of Sandwell Charity Event

AcornsLocal business people are encouraged to attend an evening of entertainment to help raise  money for Acorns Children’s Hospice.

The Mayor’s event will be a great opportunity to mingle and network whilst raising money for a very worthy cause. It will be Mayor Councillor Barbara Price’s final charity event during her Mayoral term of office  and she’s looking to finish on a high. A similar evening hosted by the Mayor of Walsall raised almost £3,000 and it’s hoped that Sandwell can do even better.

Established in 1988, Acorns works with children and young people who are not expected to reach adulthood and need round the clock specialist care. In the last year the organisation has supported over a thousand families across the Midlands, providing tailored nursing care, short breaks and end of life care at three hospices in Birmingham, Worcester and Walsall.

The gala evening is taking place on Friday 20th May at the Grosvenor Casino on Bentley Mill Way in Walsall, WS2 0LE. Doors open at 7pm and tickets are just £10. This includes a hot and cold buffet meal, the opportunity to have a flutter in a raffle and at the gaming tables, plus a disco to keep you partying into the night.

Tickets are available in person from The Big House, 44 Church Street, Oldbury B69 3DE, by email to nicola_aldridge@sandwell.gov.uk or call 0121 569 3044.
