Meet Balfour Beatty… in June
As you may be aware, finditinsandwell is passionate about organising ‘meet the buyer’ events, enabling Sandwell businesses to get face to face with some of the region’s biggest players and learn first hand how to supply to them. Recent sessions have involved principal contractors Skanska, Interserve and Britannia Construction, while dates have been set with BT and Harper Group.
Now we’ve got a corker lined up for you at our June Breakfast Club, thanks to a visit from engineering, construction and services giant Balfour Beatty.
The Balfour Beatty Group is the largest fixed rail infrastructure contracting company in the world, as well as being a UK leader in roads, support services, electrical and mechanical engineering. Here in the Midlands, Balfour Beatty’s current projects include rebuilding the West Bromwich fire station island on the A41 and landmark work on the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.
On Thursday 9 June 2011, you can meet Balfour Beatty’s newly appointed supply chain manager Claire Brown and her team of buyers, and find out exactly what they want from local businesses. They’ll be presenting at our Breakfast Club in the chamber rooms of Sandwell Council House in Oldbury, from 6:45am.
Claire said: “It will be an excellent opportunity for me to find out how we can get involved in finditinsandwell training and events”. She has also pledged to attend our Construction Commitments Awareness Training which gets underway again in the new financial year, so if you’re interested in taking part in that too, please email stephen_massey@sandwell.gov.uk for dates.
